[for Silence]

Marian stirred slightly, her arm tangled in fabric, either of her shift, or the light sheets they had taken to sleeping with since the warm weather had returned. She could feel Silence's eyes on her, tilting her head toward him with a smile. "Is it morning already?"

She wished it were not, and pulled him close for a kiss.

He leans in to kiss her softly, a smile curving his lips. "It is, but no fear, my love, we needn't be anywhere just yet."

"Good. I do not want to get up yet" Marian buried her head in Silence's neck, her lips brushing across it. Yet she could hear Bonheur. "Apparently your horse does not agree."

Silence flops back down onto the pillow. "I suppose the wretched animal is hungry."

"It would seem so," Marian kissed him one more time, her hand pulling him close so she could feel the press of his body before he rose to see to his mount.

He presses a smiling kiss to her lips and rises, dressing quickly and slipping out the door.

"Marian," he calls, his voice carrying through the house's thin walls. "Thou shouldst come and see this...."

She wonders why he would call her out of bed, what Bonheur could have done that needs to be seen. "Yes?" She slips on a robe, walking out of their abode to see a white horse, armored for war in the saracen style.

"What is this?"

"God only knows," Silence says, turning to her with a gyrfalcon hooded on his arm.

"Where did they come from?" SHe is more curious than afraid, for all that she wonders what sort of trick this might be. The horse approaches her, nuzzling at the edge of her robe, and Marian is forced to pat it, appreciating what a fine beast she is. 'Is she someone else's"

"I know not, but I think she is thine," Silence says thoughtfully. "Last year about this time, such a thing happened. It is how I came by my vielle. Perhaps this is the same."

Marian continued to pat her nose, "Are you sure? With such strange armour. And A falcon for yourself?" It seemed bizarre beyond reason, yet she hoped it was true.

"Saracen armour," Silence says neutrally. "...We might ask about if anyone is missing such a steed?"

Marian bit at her lip. "I wonder... Perhaps..."

She had too many thoughts, some she did not want to express. "Robin used a Saracen bow, and Djaq was a Saracen. Perhaps it is to remind me of home?"

And Silence himself carries a Moorish sword. "That may well be the case," he agrees, somewhat distracted by his dozing bird.

"And yet you have a falcon," Marian smiles widely at him, "I know no one with such a bird here."

"So I do." Silence returns the smile, his eyes bright. "And she is hooded in Cornish colours."

"She must be for you." With the same thought, the horse must be for Marian. "What will you name her?"
