ooc: Questions

So one of the things I've been wondering about what could have happened on Heroes. Not fanfic-wise, but show-wise. The plot-lines they forgot, the characters that were cast and then dropped, the plotlines they planned but couldn't include ( Read more... )

I believe I heard that Usutu's role in season 3 was initially meant be filled Isaac, but Santiago was working on Che at the time. I don't think I've heard that from anyone official, though. But I do know that ~future painting mode Matt~ was initially meant to have access to all of the precogs, including Isaac. I EVEN HAVE PROOF. I asked back when they were still doing Behind the Eclipse:

"Can we expect to see anything more of our favorite heroin addict in the near future? Usutu gets to appear as a spirit. I think it's only fair that we get a zombie Isaac and the two fight it out. But seriously, any plans to bring Isaac back into the story somehow ( ... )

Candice and Sylar was supposed to partner up for season two, but of course there was the writer's strike and all.

I would have liked to see the virus let out and see what they were originally going for. Nathan was going to die, forrealsies, in season two, right after the release of the virus. It would have been a better way to go than what did happen to him.

I wonder if it was just the strike, though, since Sylar killed her off so early in the season. Maybe they just thought they couldn't fit it in?

... That would have been much more awesome, yeah. It did seem in S3 like Nathan was a different character to a large extent. They needed a villain, so they chose a morally... questionable character to do it. I guess that answers why it didn't fit!

... Though they should have done it.

Twitter brought me to this conversation lol Nathan wasn't expected to die, he was gonna get severely sick but ultimately would have been cured. Back then, there was an insider who spoiled the end of season 2, well the one that didn't air I mean lol, and she was positive, Nathan wasn't expected to die...

The virus thing was expected to be eradicated with the help of Maya's power.

Twitter? Wow. Er, okay!

It does make sense that Nathan was eventually going to be cured. Nathan had some of the worst luck on the show, dying all the time, though. Er, nearly dying.

And this source sounds brilliant.

I heard that originally Mohinder was going to hand Molly over to Arthur :\

And then there was that dream sequence they did where everyone was dead and Adam, Niki/Jessica, Maury and Knox were involved. They included it in the main show sure because it looked cool but it made absolutely no sence for them to do so.

I heard Claude was supposed to come back for The Invisible Thread, damn you IMDB, why do you lie to me?

I heard at some point they were gonna bring back Simon and Monty, so many opportunities to! But they never did D:

WHAT? That's the first time I've ever heard that! MOHINDER, WHY YOU DO?

Yeah, that sequence looked awesome. Shame it didn't actually fit in, lol.

Awww, that would have been awesome. I wonder why they didn't.

Yeah, they could have brought back Heidi, too. It made no sense for them not to be at Nathan's funeral and just have, what, stand-ins?

It's in the cut scenes of S3, you see Arthur showing up at Molly's and they go into the house and she screams. (I think, tbh I wasn't paying much attention)

As for the Claude thing I think that was entirely rumour/wishful thinking. I know the Heroes people had been pushing Eccles to come back, but from the way he talks about US productions in general it didn't sound like he was very keen to come back to Hollywood for a TV show.

Monty and Simon were at Nathan's funeral btw, I mean the original actors. They just didn't get to say/do anything.

Ohhhhhhhh. See, I still haven't watched all of S3. I keep meaning to, but then... not so much?

What has he said about US productions? I'm always curious about stuff like that.

Oh! Ugh, I didn't even recognize them!

*is an idiot*

I know that we were going to see more of Elle/HRG, but they totally changed their shared storyline because of the writer's strike.

Wait... I figured there might have been more, but do you remember anything specific?

I know they were toying with the idea of Elle and Claire being sisters. But they were also toying with the possibility of West and Elle being siblings. So...

Ugh, I don't remember the specifics but we all know the deleted scenes and I vaguely remember something about a partnership.

I wasn't crazy about her character, but I would have liked Maya to have a purpose. From the fragments of the cancelled episodes of S2 (those where the virus has been released), and I think their commentary, it sounded like Maya was going to die saving the world from the virus thanks to her ability. She was all set up to be this tragic heroine, and the way they wrote her off was such an anticlimax.

I would of course have loved more Claude/Noah backstory. They mention in the commentary that they had scenes they never shot about Claude playing daddy with Claire while Noah tried to keep his distance, and that Claude was the one who started the bear collection for Claire.

There was also the middle eastern nuclear guy from the pilot, but I think they did well to replace him with Ted. It would have been a pretty slippery slope to follow, imho.

I can totally see that about Claude and agree with you completely about the rest.
