I asked a friend of mine (funny thing is she is also called Reet) to jump Patria for a while because she was just a little bit too much for me to handle on the jump course. Today they jumped for the second time and she was much better then the last time. Ruudo, my jumping trainer seems to have much faith in Pati. when I started to jump her myself in the winter he told me she could do great on 100cm or 110cm courses. When Marion, the top jumper at our barn tried her out, he told me 120cm should be nothing to her. And now he said that she could do 130cm courses :P I seriously doubt that it will ever happen, but it's just funny to hear him toping his numbers all the time.
Anyway, today Patria made a miscalculation, got the pole stuck in her legs and fell. Reet fell with her and off. if Patria wouldn't have gotten stuck in her reins she could have avoided stepping on her, but she did. Reet is fine though as she only scratch her side with her hoof tearing her shirt, but leaving all the bones unbroken. a lucky accident indeed! it looked pretty bad. but after that Reet just got back on and continued with even better results then before. see what I mean? I could never do that! I'm too much of a coward for that.
My only hope is that by the time Patria is actually jumping 100cm or 130 cm courses I will be good enough a rider to do it with her. I would hate to be one of those owners who have riders competing on their horses and just watching from the sidelines themselves. Ah well. Gotta work extra hard to get there then.
Oh and happy birthday to mee, happy birthday too meeee...
