Death penalty - For People say "Thou shall not kill" makes the death penalty a sinful thing, but actually, in the Hebrew, I believe it is "Thou shall not murder," which changes things. As far as I know, criminals are not innocent and have given up their rights.
IVF - For I don't particularly have a problem with this.
The war in Iraq - For I rejoiced when I read that Saddam was hanged. I'm convinced Iraq will eventually be better off than it was under Saddam.
stem cell research - Against Well, I'm against embryonic stem cell research. It's a waste of human life. And adult stem cells have worked in the past. I don't have anything really to back this up, so I try not to get into debates about this.
Human Cloning - Against It's creepy, most of all. Too much like playing God.
Wow. You thought it out. *is proud* Yeah, I pretty much agree with you on everything, obviously you can expound to kingdom come, but basically I think you're right with everything, expecially the adult stem cells versus embryonic stem cell reasearch because there is SUCH a difference. The only thing I don't quite agree on is IVF...but IVF isn't talked about as much as the other stuff.

Just a thought, but didn't Jesus always say to turn the other cheek and to hate the SIN and not the SINNER. How is that going to help by killing people? Not that they shouldn't be in jail for life and find some cruel and unusual punishment- but I don't think that as humans, we have the right to do Gods work.

Ya, this is a really hard one. Expecially since we're talking about someone's LIFE, which is the most important thing. I was just asked this question at a family reunion and when I answered that I was for the death penelty they asked me how I could possibly claim to be a Christian and support the death penelty. It was a good question, but even after thinking about it, I'm still with my same descision (feel free to convert me, I don't mind changing my mind if there's a good reason

I understand the full dealing with the consequences of the law, I am stating that in the first place, the law is screwed up to think that you can trade one life for another-- and that somehow by killing someone else, it will bring justice to the first person. I am agreeing with you about life being the most sacred thing, and I can't see that is a way of dealing with things. I wish there was some other way to deal with it. Though I know that if I had done something like that, and I had my life sentenced to jail, the guilt of everything would eat me up alive to the point that I just wish I was dead. But there is no reasoning in what would happen if I did it because the fact of the matter is, I never would. I cry when I see dead animals... let alone people. Then again, most people who commit these crimes are not in their right mind and can't understand what they did or they did it in a rage of emotion.
