Summary:
Popular. Jock. Outspoken. Handsome. Straight.
These are all words you would use to describe Luke Snyder
Luke's just your normal average teenager. An excellent basketball player he's on track for a full ride scholarship. His parents Lily and Damian Grimaldi couldn't be prouder and Luke's never been more popular with the kids at school. Luke however, is miserable. Isolated from the rest of his family, he's thrown himself into playing basketball only to please his parents but dreams of studying creative writing at university.
Meet Noah Mayer: Quiet. Straight A student. Bookworm
He's also gay
He's everything Luke wants to be.
So what happens when their two worlds collide?
The sunny courtyard is alive with noise, chatter and the lively bustle of people, so much so that the lone figure standing off to the side, under the shade of the oak tree cuts a lonely figure, frozen there, waging a war with himself, seemingly unable to move an inch.
He stands on shaky legs, his fingers tapping out a stuttering rhythm against his thigh he doesn't seem to notice, all his attention on the building in front of him. The normal warm, homey building, his safe haven from the outside world, now seems so cold and uninviting, towering over the boy, a shadow, drowning out the happiness the sunshine brings.
He's so engrossed, battling his own personal demons he never sees the shove coming, until it's too late and the heavy knock to his should almost sends him sprawling face first into the dirt.
Cruel, cold eyes mock him, a sneer marring chiselled features, the leader of the group, his faithful minions gathered around him. He smiles, baring a row of perfect white teeth, turning menacing as he snaps
"Watch were you're going, faggot"
And with those words the whole entire courtyard falls silent, except for the sounds of snickering coming from the leader’s minions. The leader of the group, a tall boy with blonde hair, spins on his heel and stalks away, but one of the boys hesitates for a second, his gaze looking at the boy lying on the ground, and their eyes catch. In that split second their eyes lock and sparks fly, brown and blue clashing together, until the spell is broken, as when the leader turns around, and he realizes not all are following and yells out to him, only then does he turn away, the connection broken as he does.
