Because I didn't want you to get involved. If something happens, you guys are probably the first people he goes after. And after I found out about the Jin Scrolls, I thought I could figure it out on my own.

After he apparently 'discovered the secrets of the scrolls', there's no trace of them. Meaning one of two things - either the Jin family got their hands on it again or he destroyed them. Knowing Geese, it's the latter.
