Granddads surgery
Hello everyone,
So I thought I would update on how my granddad’s surgery went. The doctor said the surgery went perfect, just like he planned. They discovered that his bones are a little soft though which isn’t good. They put in two rods along his spine to help with that and also they put in three screws. The rods make recovery harder and more painful, but in the long run it is a good thing. My dad looked up about it and apparently with the rods you will always be in a little bit of pain, but it won’t be anywhere near as bad.
Continue to pray for him as he recovers. He will be in the hospital for 6 days to make it easier for dialysis. They are going to try to get him up out of bed on Monday, which they were going to do yesterday but he was in to much pain. The were able to sit him up enough last night to put a corset on him to help support his back, which was really good. Also pray because there is a 10% chance of having problems with the screws the put in, so pray there are no problems with that. And if he happens to fall once home or anything that could cause serious damage because the surgery was on his spine. So pray for him once he is home as well.
