MILESTONE ENTRY. we've passed the point of no return, guys.
i suppose it is that time once again. time for a capspam.
i haven't been having the greatest of all weeks, but why complain when you can channel your frustration and discontent into something useful?
like posting a bunch of screeencaps to your blog and captioning them?
yay. the lucky person this time is D.I. lestrade from BBC's sherlock. i was going to attempt one of these for john, but i drowned in adorable and gave up. and rupert graves is quite nom*, in any case.
* i know you all friended and admire me for my impressive vocabulary!
let's start out with introductions. here we see, from left, dr. john watson, detective inspector g. lestrade, and holmes. well, the back of holmes' head (he is better this way.)
apparently s. moffat, the series producer, finds mr. graves quite nom as well.
He’s obviously a very handsome man, but he’s seems like - a handsome man and nobody’s told him. You know, that “you’re actually terribly good looking."
admittedly, i was not immediately in possession of squishy ladyparts upon seeing this gentleman. as well, i IMDB'ed all of the main actors before watching the series, and i was rather disgusted at the whole "rupert graves has five four children" thing.
you know, breeders. shudders. the worst.
but eventually graves' portrayal of the d.i. grew on me. and, even more helpfully, i came upon a realisation --
holy shit, lestrade/watson in this universe is the hottest thing ever.
indeed, there are few things i like more than two middle-aged british man shagging.
no, really.
i'm a sucker for LTR domestic fluff. but, even moreso, i dig the whole "closeted gay man" thing. and upon spying d.i. lestrade's wedding band, i gasped --
and came. because here's a blank slate, basically. and i haven't had an opportunity to write fic wrecking hetero. marriages in a fandom for some time. usually the guys in my fandoms aren't married, and are quite a bit younger, you know.
oh, and then a sexy, young thing can come in between lestrade/watson. the trifecta of hnng for me. homewrecker; married to homewrecker domestic fluff; new, gay homewrecker.
"you've got some serious issues with relationships, eh?"
what? no. never. i just have . . . depraved kinks is all. completely healthy to work them out here, yes?

i like this capture. you might even say that it is . . . my favourite. i just think the good detective inspection has such a charming open-mouth face.
really, so charming. and those lashes! ah, you can tell he used to be quite beautiful . . .
except he wasn't. no, rupert graves has definitely improved with age.

between sherlock and i, backhanded compliments are all the d.i. ever gets.
i mightn't be a big fan of benedict cumberbatch's face, but he plays the hell out of holmes. he is throughly sherlock. a lot of talent, i'm impressed.
d.i. lestrade, on the other hand, is simply in a constant state of malcontent. despite the depth i can tell moffat and co. are attempting to add to this rather one-dimentsional character, lestrade still has pretty much only three emotions in the show:
- angry >:(
- reluctantly angry >:/
- confused/ blank but still a little angry >:? (pictured above)
yet we are truly blessed. graves makes such comely irritated faces.
and look at that little belly. hnng, if i were straight, i'm pretty sure he'd be my type. he's pretty fucking sexy, kids.
bonus! ----> there's dr watson, with his silly close-crop and granny jumper. like a tiny, too-precious, tenacious doggie with whom lestrade can cheat on his wife.

oh, is same-sex marriage legal in britain all of the sudden?

well, because i'm almost positive that this series' sherlock holmes is a gay man. and the universe isn't so nice that we could have two gay characters in one series. naturally.
and while i'm fond of infidelity of all types, 'older, closeted gay man cheats on his wife with another man' is my very favourite.

new EDIT FOR POSTERITY: tumblr really never lets me down. it appears that r. graves has in fact had a gay relationship, but ~*~it wasn't for him~*~, apparently. i 1/2 take back the breeder thing, rupert. also: just because of the similar thing he said, i immediately imagined tom hardy and rupert graves having sex, and i was pleased and utterly distracted for four minutes.
no, it doesn't take long.
