Amma

Well well well.

It's friday night.

I worked in the lab all day.

Afterwards Ed and I met up...to go to yoga. He decided he wanted to go with me. I gave up trying to make him come with me a long time ago. So it's funny he's interested in coming now.

When we got there, though, there was this Indian saint, the divine mother Amma, giving a talk and blessing in one of the rooms at the studio. I think it was meant to be. The last few weeks Ed and I have been having some ups and downs. He's also been depressed and bummed out on new york. She had a half hour meditation that Ed stayed for while I went to class. Apparently it was very intense. He said he found himself again, and is feeling much calmer. I am so glad for that.

She was this amazing divine presence, I felt it in all my pores when I was in that room. I only stayed a few minutes, but her aura was stronger and clearer than anyone's I've ever seen. After I finished yoga class I passed by the room and she was giving a blessing, anointing people's heads with ash, and she beckoned me back in the room and made me sit for her blessing. She put her hands on my head. I felt them go deep into me, almost through me, and I smelled the scent of roses. It was holy. Her power was beyond comprehension.

Ed said after he left he got to see Jenny Holzer's new piece being shown on the New York Public Library, which is across the street from the studio. It was poetry being projected onto the front of the library itself. I remember him telling me about her a year or so ago, how amazing that he was able to just happen upon this. I said, see, New York isn't so bad!!! Look at all this stuff all around us!!

And tomorrow night we're going to see Madame Butterfly at NYC Opera. I've never seen it before, and am very excited!!! They have this cheap deal for young people, $30 to sit in the orchestra. At the Met you pay that much to sit in the very very back where you can't see anything.

We're going to meet Dena out for a beer in a little bit. She is such a good time and has one of the best laughs I've ever heard. I'm glad we finally got to become friends.

Jude just left to go see some crazy show with some famous dj that is happening until 7 am.

Well I guess that's all. I feel like taking a bath and reading. I don't know what I feel like reading though.

Have a good weekend my friends.
