Homeward bound

We slept in and packed furiously and creatively. We stuffed clothes into every pocket we could get our hands on. I will definitely pack an empty suitcase for our next trip.

Bill was short a shirt to wear and decided to buy one in the gift shop. He marched right down to the gift shop in his crocs and shorts and didn't tell them he was going to buy a shirt to wear. We had quite the laugh about this.

We got our luggage stored and the concierge recommended Kona Cafe for lunch at the Polynesian resort. We took the boat to the Contemporary Resort and caught the monorail to the Polynesian.

Lunch was OK, not the best. We walked around the resort a little and swam in the pool for 20 minutes. The kids enjoyed the slide twice before storms forced the pool closing. Before the Dissers yell at me for pool-hopping, it wasn't planned and the pool was not crowded at all. My kids were polite and we didn't leave a mess. It actually helped us make the decision to stay at the Grand Floridian for our next trip, as the Poly was nice but not "us" if you know what I mean. Anyway, please do not report us to the pool-hopping police.

We headed back to the Wilderness Lodge and got some snacks at the concierge level. We watched TV while the kids went on a hidden Mickey hunt.

I was craving chocolate and told Bill I wanted some malted milk balls from the gift shop. He gave me all sorts of unnecessary grief and we joked about it a little.

We napped and hung out in the lobby, ate dinner at the concierge level and got on our bus for the airport.

Our flight was 90 minutes late so we hung out at our terminal and read and played games. Bill grabbed some McDonald's for dinner and we enjoyed a quiet flight home. Hannah and I slept pretty hard.

Our limo met us at the airport and we slept on the way home. The limo pulled into our driveway at 3 a.m. As I predicted, the cats were happy to see us and Simba slept with me.

Long, fun trip.
