I Want to Telllll You

I have been, and always shall be, a Beatles fan. I don't even know how I became aware of the band. They broke up two years before I was born. My parents didn't listen to rock stations, and my older brother was more into The Doors. I think I just came out of the womb a Beatles fan.

The first records (yes, LP records, children, look that up on Wikipedia) that I ever bought were the two-album Star Wars soundtrack and Magical Mystery Tour. I Am the Walrus, when you think about, does sound like the title of a kid's song. I had no idea WTF a crabalocker fishwife was, but I belted out every word to every song on that album in my basement in Brooklyn while playing with my Star Wars figures and Barbie dolls. As a teen, my friends and I listened repeatedly to every Beatles song that supposedly had secret lyrics, and immersed ourselves in Beatles trivia and "Paul is dead" speculation. As an adult, I buy every album Paul McCartney releases.

So you can imagine how stoked I was to hear about the release of Beatles Rock Band in September. I was pretty stoked. But then I saw this.

Beatles Rock Band

I'm not really a girly screamer. I screamed when the Hobbits showed up at Comic-Con one year. That's about the extent of my girly screaming. But this trailer made me scream like a teenybopper in the 60's watching Ed Sullivan. I knew Beatles Rock Band would be good. But I had no idea it would be this good.

And if you're not as excited as I am, then you may be a lover, but you ain't no dancer.
