Weather-wise, it's been kind of an odd day. When I walked from the bus stop to the office, it was very windy, but no rain, and even a little sun. Half an hour later, the sky had gone black, with a couple celestial spotlights off to the south. The sky lightened a bit, and it started raining. Then the sun came out, and then it started raining again.
Three helicopters have landed at the hospital across the freeway in the past two hours.
mcsassypants thinks the zombie attack has begun. I'm on the 57th floor, and it takes two or three elevators to get up here (depending on if you come in on 4th Ave or 5th Ave, which are on floors 1 and 4, respectively), so I'm not too worried. We'll be able to shut off the elevators in time.
Then the sun came out again, very abruptly, and there was a rainbow. It was beautiful, each color sharply delineated. Then I looked down, and realized I could see the curve at the bottom of the rainbow. I've always known that rainbows are circles, rather than merely arcs, but I've never actually seen it for myself.
It's been an exciting afternoon.
UPDATE: We are now up to five helicopters since 1:00PM. It is 3:48PM. Definitely zombies.
