I am a very small polar bear.

designdoc is tall and thin. I am small and compact. A fair amount of muscle and a little more fat than is strictly necessary. It is starting to get a bit chilly at night, and designdoc doesn't understand why I feel it is necessary to have the fan on when it is 45°F outside. The answer is that waking up soaked in sweat is gross, and I get hot at night.

In other news, designdoc made our bed last night. Which is to say, he built it. We were going to get this bed, but when we got to Ikea and looked at it in person, it was kind of weird, so we decided against it. My second choice was this one, but it was out of stock, and I was cranky, getting sick (though I didn't realize it yet), and goshdarnit, I was buying a bed today! So we ended up with this one, which I did not look at closely enough and failed to note that it is particle board rather than solid wood (the other two are solid wood). Putting the bed together was a strange and complex process, but now we have a real bed. It is very tall. We've been sleeping on a mattress and box springs on the floor since we moved in, because the movers managed to lose a couple essential components of our bed frame. It's nice having a real bed, but the height (above my butt and below designdoc's) is going to take a little getting used to.
