For the past couple months, I've been ogling the
Vosges website, and occasionally sending links to
baliset,
chanda, or
mcsassypants. Well, I finally got to
chanda, and a few days ago, she ordered and kindly shared a box of the
Collezione Italiano with Quiet and me. I've been fantasizing about these chocolates for over two months, and they exceeded my wildest expectations.
- Rooster: Italian taleggio cheese + organic walnuts + Tahitian vanilla beans + bittersweet dark chocolate
- Olio d'oliva: extra virgin olive oil + white chocolate + dried Kalamata olives
- Balsamico: 10 year old balsamic vinegar + dark chocolate + roasted Sicilian hazelnuts
- Sale del Mare: Sicilian sea salt + milk chocolate + burnt sugar caramel + pine nut
- Finnochio: Wild Tuscan fennel pollen + dark chocolate + floral anise
My favorites were the Finnochio and the Sale del Mare. The Finnochio was what every licorice candy aspires to be, and I have a weakness for burnt caramel. *sigh*
Hopefully,
chanda will post the scans of the packaging soon. The instructions are nothing short of pornographic. (And quite funny, really.)
