So I'm here with Gabi and her 2yo son Elias, relaxing, which I need! We'll probably go out this afternoon to go the Olympic Park. Yesterday we went to the Englischer Garten. She had guests over yesterday and I got to practice my German, so that was awesome for me, to realize that I still have some kind of command over the German language!!!
I can't believe I'll be flying to the US on Wednesday! I'm so excited. And I'm very excited for being in Vermont for July and August.
I should mention that I officially bought my ticket to go to Spain again in September. Aerlingus, Boston to Madrid with a connection in Dublin for only $260!!!! I was going to book for September 16, but the layover that day would be 13 hours, whereas on September 13 it's only 1 hour, so guess which date I chose to book!
My teaching contract officially starts October 1, with a brief orientation in the last days of September. So if I'm arriving September 14 (the flight leaves the 13 and arrives the next day, as most US-to-Europe flights do), this should give me plenty of time to find and move into an apartment. I also plan on emailing some online listings while I'm in the US starting late August.
