But if Rebecca gets a life, when will she write her fanfiction?

Tomorrow is Monday, and the crazy thing is that I'm actually looking forward to it because it means that I'm just going to go to work and nowhere else. I don't want to sound ungrateful, because I met so many wonderful members of the Jewish community here, but I just felt SO busy. After evening services on Friday, a new friend treated me to dinner at a really nice Mexican restaurant. She's about my mom's age, but we had so much in common and stayed out late talking. She gave me the most delicious loaf of homemade challah!

Then on Saturday, I woke up early to go back to temple for morning services. (I don't usually go to morning services and probably won't be going back, but I heard the temple had a separate sanctuary for morning services and I really wanted to see it.) That afternoon, Sara and I tried out a new restaurant here, discovered it had the most delicious fried pickles, and saw Star Trek Into Darkness. We weren't thrilled. The plot felt thinner and more misogynistic than the first movie (which I saw back here - and perhaps I didn't hate that only because I wasn't such a TNG fan at the time). Adam sent me an angry e-mail about how he didn't like it, either. I will never understand fans who prefer Kirk to Picard.

Today, some of my new friends invited me to a Hebrew class at one member's house. (Another old Jewish couple who live in a mansion on a golf course and don't think they're rich. They seem to be everywhere I go.) It was a little intense, because their Hebrew is much better than mine, but it was fun, and three of them are in the process of converting, so we talked about that a lot. The only downside is that some old Jewish ladies can never stop talking, and so I was there for over four hours! And Sara and I just now got back from watching TV at Athena's.

I had a dream that I was back on the front porch of Grandma's old house. Only where her front porch swing used to be, there was a hammock instead, and I was lying on it under some blankets. I had just been by Grandma's lemon tree (which I think was in her front yard, instead of her back yard) and I had some delicious, fresh-picked lemons in the hammock with me. Sable was lying on the porch next to me, and he was still young and black, instead of gray. He had his eyes half-closed like he used to when he was happy. I didn't want to wake up.
