Tonight's new episode was a good one, but for some reason, I found it a bit... strange. But I wasn't in the best of moods when I watched it, which may have had something to do with it. I also never actually saw Agar Bayar's last episode, which led to some confusion on my part. Still, I enjoyed it.
Notes on episode 9x17 Need to Know

+ I loved Tony's "What the hell, you've taken down armed terrorists, but you can't handle public speaking?" and Ziva's "Yeah, so?" So very her.
+ "You are not ready yet, my young grasshopper."
? So McGee can forge Tony's signature. Huh. I wonder if this has anything to do with the fact that back in Freedom, Tony delayed giving McGee his signature when he needed it on some paperwork.
+ Tony sneaking around Ziva's desk and reading her speech. The two of them have snooped in each others' stuff a lot in the past, but sometimes, it's felt very mean. Here, it felt more friendly/fun. :)
+ "Don't take the job." Yeah, right, Vance, like Gibbs would ever want to be the Director. They literally could not pay him enough! Interesting moment between the two of them, though.
? Vance mentioning that he needs to take a vacation and Gibbs pushing him to do it. I wonder if this will go anywhere.
- I'm all for Dorneget and Abby being pals, but McGee's reaction when he found out Dorneget left his gloves at her place really rubbed me the wrong way. We've see jealous McGee and smug Abby before in Season 7 (when she flirted with Alejandro and he got jealous) and Season 8 (when she dated Cade and he got jealous again). This is getting old, writers.
+ "That's not coffee."
+ "We protect ourselves from enemies both foreign and domestic." Yes, in fact, we even had an episode arc with those very titles!
+ Loved the scene with Ziva offering to buy Abby Caf-Pow in her lab. How cute was that? I wish those two had more scenes together.
+ "Buick's out of the garage." Haha, I'll bet anything he picked that up from Mike Franks.
+ Loved McGee giving Dorneget tips on being a probie and briefing him on Gibbs's rules. So sweet. This is why I love McGee.
+ "What is he, 12?" - "Uh, no, he's 16." Abby and Tony's whole conversation about "Little Einstein" cracked me up.
+ That high-speed chase to catch Reardon was awesome...
- ...but Gibbs and Tony torturing Reardon in autopsy was not. What jerks. I can't believe Ducky left the room.
+ McGee kept Dorneget's secret.
+ The final scene between Gibbs and Bayar was very nice and subtly sinister. "So we're playing for the same team." - "This time." I guess we're going to see him again at some point. This is about the time when the writers start planting seeds for the season finale arc. I hope this year's is going to be juicy!
