Rebecca devote her time to something useful? Never!

For absolutely no reason, I've decided to learn what each state has on its state quarter (which is proving to be fairly easy) and to sing "99 Luft Balloons" in German (which is quite difficult). Don't ask me why I decide to do these things!

I'm finally getting around to posting the list I made of the most-played songs on my iPod for 2011. The one I made for 2010 is back here. It's interesting that the only one song that appears on both years' list is "Sugar, We're Going Down," by Fall-Out Boy. I didn't realize I liked it that much. It's also interesting (or kinda scary?) that in 2010, my most-played song only had a playcount of 69. This year... well, I've definitely gone past that.

Most played songs on Rebecca's iPod (2011): Recently-released
1) Mean, Taylor Swift, 81.
2) Raise Your Glass, Pink, 76.
3) Who Says, Selena Gomez, 72.
4) Dynamite, Taio Cruz, 69.
5) Firework, Katy Perry, 62.
6) Hey Soul Sister, Train, 56.
7) Born This Way, Lady Gaga, 54.
8) Perfect, Pink, 53.
9) Cooler Than Me, Mike Posner, 49.
10) I Want to Hold Your Hand, Curt Colfer, 45.

And...

Most played songs on Rebecca's iPod (2011): Oldies & classics
1) What About Love, Heart, 81.
2) Flow Gently, Sweet Afton, Nickel Creek, 71.
3) The Girl All the Bad Guys Want, Bowling for Soup, 56.
4) Send Me on My Way, Rusted Root, 56.
5) Hey Jealousy, The Gin Blossoms, 55.
6) 99 Luft Balloons, Nena, 48.
7) I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues, Elton John, 45.
8) He Thinks He'll Keep Her, Mary Chapin Carpenter, 44.
9) Sugar, We're Going Down, Fall-Out Boy, 44.
10) God Only Knows, The Beach Boys, 43.

I think the iPod lists have more vivid memories attached to them than any others. And here's one more list for 2011 - child actress movies I saw that year. I sorta dropped the ball on that one, but about halfway through the year, I made the goal to watch one child actress movie a month.

Young actress movies Rebecca saw in 2011:
1) Jane Eyre (2011), Amelia Clarkson & Romy Settbon Moore.
2) The King's Speech (2010), Ramona Marquez & Freya Wilson.
3) Let Me In (2010), Chloe Moretz.
4) Paranormal Activity 3 (2011), Jessica Tyler Brown & Chloe Csengery. * (* = saw in theater)
5) Somewhere (2010), Elle Fanning.
6) Soul Surfer (2011), AnnaSophia Robb.
7) Super 8 (2011), Elle Fanning.
8) The Time Traveler's Wife (2009), Hailey & Tatum McCann, Brooklyn Proulx.

NB: I almost put X-Men: First Class and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 on the list, but Emma Watson and Jennifer Lawrence aren't really young compared to the other actresses, and Morgan Lily was only onscreen for a few minutes.

On Sara's art calendar, I'm currently looking at The Titan's Goblet, an 1833 oil painting by Thomas Cole. It's a very cool and dramatic surrealist landscape.
