Rebecca wants to be the girl to walk in the sun...

My asthma has been worse since the weather turned colder, and I finally called the pharmacy to get my inhaler refilled. Of course, my prescription has expired! So this morning I drove to the doctor's (and he is not right around the corner) to get a new one. It took forever. I didn't even have time to bring the prescription to the pharmacy afterwards; I'll have to do that tomorrow. And during my long, boring stay in the waiting room, I tried to make an important phone call, but the woman I'm trying to reach didn't answer her phone once! I was frustrated almost to tears. Great way to kick off November, huh?

But I shouldn't complain. Things could always be worse. My poor sister has had a very sore jaw and gums recently. The other day, she said something like, "With my luck, I probably have jaw cancer! Isn't that what Arthur Llewellyn Davies died of? Of course, I don't have some crazy, rich little Scottish playwright to swoop in and pay all my medical bills!" I have to say, I was pretty shocked. Who knew she actually did listen when I rambled on about JM Barrie?

Oh, and let's not forget the pick-me-up for the day: Tonight's episode of NCIS!

Notes on episode 9x07 Devil's Triangle
(AKA the one with Gibbs and Fornell's ex-wife. Fornell was last seen in Tell-All.)

Writers: Steven D. Binder (Restless) & Reed Steiner (Safe Harbor)

+ The opening bullpen scene. The bit about Tony checking his shower drain was... weird, and all his bald jokes were annoying. I did love Ziva trying to reassure him and McGee, though, and Gibbs walking up behind her as soon as she said, "At least you guys aren't going grey." Classic! And Tony's "skin yarmulke" comment! I immediately thought of a few men I know at temple who have "skin yarmulkes." Lol!

+ Fornell swigging Pepto-Bismal out of the bottle before meeting Diane.

:( Ducky's brief mention that he hadn't been sleeping well after what he went through last week in Thirst. Poor old man. Didn't you just want to give him a hug? Like the rest of us, he's probably still recovering from what a painfully bad episode it was.

+ The conference-room scene with Gibbs, Fornell, and Diane. I loved the dynamic between the three of them, especially Diane's line, "It wasn't like... [gesturing to Gibbs & Fornell] this was! He's married to his wife, not his work. I know that's a novel concept for both of you."

Gibbs, Fornell, and Diane outside the conference room.

+ Tony and Ziva playing around in the background while Gibbs and Fornell briefed with Homeland Security. They were so sweet and so funny together. I don't ship them, though, and Tiva doesn't have to happen to make me happy. It doesn't. I'm happy with them just getting along as friends. If only they could act like this in every episode...

++ Abby's list of questions about Gibbs's relationship with Diane. I loved that while the rest of the team tried to eavesdrop outside the door, Abby just jumped right in and started asking the nosiest questions she could think of.

+ Tony's comments in the second bullpen scene cracked me up, especially, "FBI/NCIS joint case... a marriage, of sorts."

++ The scene in Vance's office. Oh my gosh, the look on Vance's face when Diane stormed in! Then he just managed to get in, "You must be Mrs. -- " before she went off on Gibbs and Fornell. And I loved the way she compared McGee to Macauley Caulkin (lol!) and then rattled down what Gibbs and Fornell keep in their wallets (woah).

- The nerdy security guard hitting on Ziva at the storage facility was too over-the-top for me.

+ The looks on Gibbs and Fornell's faces when Tony suggested that they must have something in common with Diane's third husband. They looked about ready to kill him!

+ "You're a terrible liar." "I'm a fantastic liar. I'm just... not very good at it... right now." Oh, Tony. How I loved this line. And Diane semi-flirting with him! So edgy and unexpected.

+ Oh, my goodness. The basement scene between Gibbs and Diane just about made me tear up, especially when Diane mentioned Shannon and Gibbs immediately looked away. Mark Harmon conveyed so much without ever saying a word, and I felt for both of them. :'(

Next week, Engaged: Part 1 kicks off our November arc! And it's going to have a Gibbs flashback!!
