Several months down the road...

Wow...I can't believe I haven't posted here since June...that's insane! I don't know where to start the updates. It's been a hard year financially. It literally took me 11 months to get where I could pay all my bills on time, and more than minimum payment. I was blessed with a good raise in Ocotber..so that really helped. Back in July the parents put the house on the market to be sold, which scared the crap out of me because I knew I couldn't afford to live anywhere else at the time...but God's been good and he has completely paved the road for JoAnn and me to live together. And I feel at ease knowing I can make a $375 payment plus half the utilities verses the $700 plus all utilities I was paying last year. I'm extremely far from having my bills/loans paid off...but I'm on the right road, and now know my selfworth is not based on my possetions...it's taken me a long time to learn that.

The newest battle I'm facing is with my weight...and I may have posted about this earlier...but beginning April 15th 2005 I started exercising as much as possible and taking better care of what I put in my mouth (I'm still working on that part) and I have lost right at 40 pounds. I feel much better...and more energetic. It's a very hard task because it's something I've struggled with all my life...and this is the best I've ever done...and the longest I've ever stuck with it.

I've become extremely involved in the leadership of the singles ministry at pinelake...and also with the worship choir. This weekend we went to the coast and did concerts and carnivals at 2 churches down there. It was so great to see kids running about and having fun and laughing when they've had such a hard year with most of their homes being damaged or destroyed from the hurricane. It was really a blessing to get to go.

Over all I'd say this has been a good...but extremely trying year. And I hope next year I'll be able to take what I've learned about finances and health and have an even better year.

Till next time...
