We made it
We made it to Central City and Garrett is having x-rays done. As expected, it was a rough ride for him. No matter how tightly the Ruby Creek doctor secured his arm and doped him up, he felt every bump in the road. Jeb kept apologizing because he was driving.
Mason is here and is involved with the doctors examining Garrett. Mason thinks that he might have pulled a tendon in his right shoulder. When they transferred Garrett from the truck to the stretcher, there was a 'pop' from his shoulder. When Mason moved Garrett's shoulder above his head, Garrett winced. Mason could only move so much before it hurt. There was no sign of dislocation or broken bones. Garrett may have pulled it trying to keep a grip on the reins when the horse threw him. The only thing they can do for that is ice, compression, and aspirin.
Travis, Wyatt, and Jeb are searching the area to see if they can find any clues as to what spooked the horse. I'm really hoping it was just an animal and not someone trying to kidnap Garrett. But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried what the boys may find.
UPDATE: His hip is just bruised, no fractures or hairline fractures (which is what they thought at first).
