(Ew my last post was girly, don't ever let me do that again)
So I turned in my application to Spotlight On Me (SOM) Records today. It was disappointing though. I drove up there yesterday because I had an appointment at 3, I got there really early because I'd never drove there before plus I just wanted to be early. I didn't know how to work the buzzer at the door at the bottom of the steps and then finally somebody else in the building answered and let me in. The guy across the hall from Spotlight Records who is from MadeMan Entertainment let me in but says nobody has been there and that lately they've been schedulling people and not showing up.
About 2:30 another girl from USF shows up who is supposed to have her appointment at that time. We wait and wait, chit chat, finally at almost 3:20 the guy calls her and then me to reschedule because he can't make it.
So I reschedule for 1:30 today. I hightail it over there straight after classes because I'm afraid of traffic and stuff. Get there early, like 1:15 or so, and I get let in. I open the door and its this little office opening to two other rooms. To the left is a desk, and to the right 3 chair with 2 of them occupied by 2 girls filling out applications.
So my "appointment" is really just application filling out. I was filling mine out and one girl handed hers in and then the guy took a polaroid picture of her! I was like...uhhh... I look at my application, it asks things like height and weight. I thought about just leaving for a second. But I finished filling it out, by then the other 2 had left. So I was just talking with the guy and he had a *stack* of applications already. He asked if I could rap or sing, I said, "No but I can appreciate!" he gave me a sympathetic chuckle. After a couple minutes I left and he said he would "put in a good word for me." It's nice, but I don't think it's going to help me out too much. Obviously they're looking for a "face" to represent their lable, and I highly doubt with all the girls that applied it would be me. Which was really disappointing because I think it would be really interesting to work there. Plus you get paid $10 hour (secretary/receptionist position).
Ohhh well.
And I guess I should write about what happened with Winn-Dixie, but I don't feel like it, so next time.
