Penny would SO be a slayer. YES. (Because otherwise, she would be eating her own liver out of sheer jealousy, and the L&R universe just isn't that cruel.)

I'm actually a little behind on the story in the comics these days, so I was wondering: is Maggie running a hotel a thing from the comics, or did you come up with that? Because if so, it's pretty darn perfect. I can really picture it, one of those courtyard places where one person essentially keeps it running.

And of course the connection with Oxnard. Love it!

Yeah, I was behind on my L&R annuals until a month or so ago, but used my rarewomen assignment as an excuse to catch up with the Locas half. And, may I say: tears of joy, baby! Tears of joy. I don't know how that guy does it.

At any rate, Maggie isn't the manager of a motel in the comic, but she does do her time as the manager of an apartment complex of the type you describe, so it was a very short hop. ;-) Also, the place is lousy with super-heroines, which made this storyline seem like a natural.

I'm pleased you think it works. I've often savored the Buffy/Sunnydale/Oxnard connection. Everybody breaks down there!
