Our Spike?

I see why Buffy is annoyed by Giles's cold pragmatism, but in his defense, I really like how he says 'our'! :D

“Oh dear. That, more than any number of earthquakes or fleeing animals, makes me think you do indeed have a serious situation on your hands.”

Hee, yes, it is a more ominous portent than most.

He was so weird. She was probably just as weird for finding it cute, even now.

Aww...

At least he had the grace to look guilty.

Oh, Spike. I'm glad he hasn't changed in some regards. I really like how jealous Buffy is of Dru and how mature she still tries to be. I also like all the little details about her life, like her dessert habit.

In which Spike and Buffy try that new-fangled “communication” thing, with mixed results.

You tease! *g*

¡Yay! Giles wasn't completely irredeemable!

Spike has...something going on...but he's still very much Spike. At least I hope I'm writing him so!

Buffy hasn't really had a chance to do a lot of growing up on the emotional side since she last saw Spike. Her life is more together, but she's no more knowledgable in the ways of the heart than she ever was. Poor lamb.

Yes, I am a terrible tease! But you know you love it!

Ooh! Thank you kindly! I feel a bit protective of her, as we often do with our special kids. I'm very happy she's working for you!

I still love this story. You threw in the Telegraph Hill parrots! And those pretty staircase streets. There are some real nice art deco buildings around there, too.

City Lights and a little North Beach cafe with Italian desserts used to be one of my favorites when I had a little apartment on the Embarcadero (freeway view -- only $1800 a month). Broadway, of course, is not as nice as Columbus.

Heh, Only$1800 a month. There's a reason why people come to visit, but then go away again...

I worked for many years in the shadow of Telegraph Hill, across the street from the Farnsworth marker, so this little jaunt up Sansome Street was a bit of a homecoming for me. Broadway is, um, historical? On the way from here to there? Not quite as ugly as that motel-hell stretch of Lombard? Better than Fresno? (And, oh yes, I've done my time there, too.)

I'm so glad you're still enjoying! Thanks for letting me know!

Oh! Wonderful! A new installment of this wonderful plot-less story. ;-)

Please write more. I love your Buffy/Spike/Dru. Together and alone. Also: Communication (breakdown) coming! Woot!

I'm salivating. Eeek!

Thank you for continuing this, it is a wonderful story so far. :)

Heh. I know there's some plot in here somewhere! *rummages* Oh well, maybe next time. No, wait! Next time there's going to be a bunch of talking about being in a relationship. Or not being in one. Or something like that. Hmmm. I'll get to the plot eventually, I'm sure.

I'm so happy that you're having fun with this! Dru may not have much to do next time, but she's a critical part of the team, so they're all just going to have to learn to get along! (I love wrangling these three.) Thanks for the lovely feedback!

Yeah-- an update! I really love this story. You've made San Fransisco another character in it; every update makes me want to visit again.

And I love your Buffy. She's so Buffy; Zappos and MedievalArmory.com and dessert out, but lean cuisine for dinner. And she's jealous of Drusilla, but willing to give her a chance.

The scene with the parrots was great; very chilling. We've had an odd-animal encounter every chapter so far. I'm intrigued by this theme, and by Dru's obvious anguish at killing the bird.

Really hoping you're feeling motivated again before sping seasonal spufffy!

Next time you come through, you'll let me know, right?

You know, they walked right by the former Mabuhay Gardens in this chapter, and Spike didn't lay a wreath or anything!

I'm glad you're enjoying Buffy, even if this thing with Dru has her a bit off-balance. She's a practical Slayer, though, and it's not like she's never had strange bedfellows (in the sense of coalition members) before.

The scene with the parrots did give me a bit of trouble, as I had a very clear picture in my mind, and translating it into words that accurately portrayed the mood (beautiful, but creepy) took some doing. I'm so pleased you liked it. Thanks for letting me know!

I'm definitely continuing this into the spuffy off-season. It may not be finished before next spring, but there should be updates in the interim!
