If you're on LJ, you can make a DW username using the code found at the bottom of the profile page of the DW journal in question. (For example, see at the bottom of the

There's this "Guide to Dreamwidth for LiveJournal Users," but I don't know if this is the FAQ you mean you already use.

That one's moderately useful, but the more in-depth stuff (like the answer to Reb's question) I just get from the main FAQ. I have to hunt around for it, though, you know?

Rebcake, you're too kind to me. You've been so welcoming and it means more to me than you know. Now I'm going to have like...double-digit friends on LJ! For reals! And upwards of 5 on DW! (I should probably learn how to 'drive' them at this point, doncha think?)

Thanks so much for the recommendations. Your far-too-kind words really helped jolt me into finishing chapter 4 which is (I'm sure you can understand) kind of sucky to write. Even though the story is a little emo right now, I have had so much fun researching what's to come. (Spoiler free) A few side trips into 1880s issues about female sexuality and race relations (not concurrently, however!)

Thanks again sweetie - and glad you're loving MsJane's tale as well. I just love the stuffin' out of her! (And her talent!)

Pshaw! It's in everybody's interest when the good stuff is finding its audience. *iz secretly thrilled to inspire work on next chapter*

I'm guessing your recent move is bringing out a lot of the stuff that's making your Warren so vile, which makes me look forward to the Victorian-era race relations stuff, etc. (OMG! Is Buffy going to be "hysterical"? Say it ain't so... (Though, if so, you might be interested in taking a look at Herself's Bittersweet Series, especially the second "Mrs. Grieves" story, when the unhappy couple are in Italy. I doubt it would be a lot like what you have planned, but it might be interesting to see how a different William deals with an out-of-control bride.)

You'll see the answers to the hysterical question posted now. And damn girl - give me back my brain! How'd you know that? I have had so much fun researching cures for hysteria. It's why I had to introduce the good doctor in chapter 2.

I wanted this story to mirror the first one - only instead of a wise but tired warrior who wants to lay down arms and be with William, we get the Buffy we know. And William isn't the weak boy or the monster - but the man that he always was inside, brought out with Elizabeth's help. SO as the last story, they were trapped in the damned house - this one, they're on the road. And the first two words are the title of this one (and focus on her journey) whereas the last book was titled the last two words (and focused on his).

All this juicy feedback is rejuvinating my story! I was feeling tired and talentless before. How the hell did Steinbeck write without the interwebs - I ask you!!

And I was just pointed towards Herself by Msjane earlier this summer. I haven't read the Mrs. Grieves stories yet - now I'm thinking I should write mine first and *then* read them so I don't subconciously copy them (or the more likely option, get so overwhelmed by her talent that I crawl under a rock!!)
