I think I need more friends before I come to a conclusion because there hasn't been much for me to do on it. I just realized today that there's no version of a wall, which I always thought was stupid, though I used it, because people always wrote things that should have been in messages anyway, but it's been a feature that's been there for so long, even in MySpace, that it's weird at the same time. I do like their photos feature. It's a little more aesthetically pleasing when posted in the feed as well as the photos are much larger (I have a pretty large monitor and they fill my screen, so I'm not even sure if they resize them at all. Do you know?) Otherwise, I'm not seeing a huge distinction between the two. Facebook has "like," Google+ has +1; Facebook has filters, Google+ has circles (though I never really used filters so I can't really say if there was something else new about circles), etc. What do you think?
Despite that, though, I do kind of hope that it takes off. I never ever liked Facebook, but for these types of things to be useful, you have to go where the people go. However, I want it to be a select few people. I never really felt comfortable using Facebook except to contact people because people I had one class with years ago and never talked to since would add me (I know I could have said no, but curiosity always gets the best of me). With fewer people, hopefully I'll feel more comfortable using it and it can actually become a useful tool in nourishing those relationships (I hardly talk to anyone these days). While I enjoy knowing what old friends and acquaintances are up to, it's also a source of stress.
I think it has to do with Google profile I filled out long time ago.
Google's just like Facebook minus games but I was told that's coming so I hope it's not as spammy as Facebook is. I've blocked so many games but there's new ones that keeps getting through. I just got an invitation today to "My Pot Farm". Seriously??
I actually like the circles. Easier to share with that circle or not. I made High School and LJ circles. :)
