the annual catch-up
i haven't posted here for ages, so I probably should do a bit of a catch up - and I have a bit of time while waiting for my friend to arrive. Very sexy friend too, if rather young.
Anyway - I am the accounts manager now, and have been loving my job.
On the first of April - yes April fools, very apt - half of the company was sold to the largest waste management company in New Zealand, which I initially thought was a good idea.
Now I don't.
It is a public company, which means the bottom line is profits. Fuck the people, as long as they make money they don't care how they do it.
I don't like this at all, and I don't like the board members that I have met so far either.
We had a guy come in today that we have christened the weasel because thats what he is. he apparently spent the whole time mouthing off about how the company deals with people who try to 'missappropriate funds' - his words - and so we are taking it as a veiled threat of sorts.
My boss is gay, which isn't news-worthy, but the fact that he pretends that he is straight is. No-one would care if he was gay, the only ting that people care about is the sort of fuck-wad he is - which is considerable.
Apparently at the grand prix one of the guys from the original parent company got very drunk and said to him - 'so ... are you really homosexual', to which closet man said that he hadn't really thought about it, but that he would consider it now.
We have had several full-on arguments recently, I quit twice the other day - I guarentee that he never refers to anything i do as stupid again.
I have had a pay-rise - well deserved - but I am still working 60+ hours a week.
It seems like the more that I prove Ican do, the more they give me to do, and I do so hate paper work - so maybe I will have to start fucking things up so they stop it.
I start at between 6 and 7 am - and finish around 5 or 6 pm. I also work Saturdays for 10 hours, and go in on Sundays if I need to.
Actually I quite like Sundays - it's really peace-ful and I can get shit loads done.
