Officially started work on writing my thesis this weekend. Having trouble getting motivated to rocket ahead, but I'm about to sit down to work at it now (hence the procrastination LJ update). So far, I've written four full pages (sort of single-spaced) with 23 footnotes, and I've just gotten past the first half of the first verse of Genesis 3. Fun!
QotD:
R. Huna said: Behold, it was very good refers to the dispensation of happiness; and behold, it was very good, to the dispensation of suffering. Can then suffering actually be very good? It is in fact so because through its instrumentality men attain to the life of the future world; and so said Solomon: And reproofs of chastisement [i.e., instruction] are the way of life. Say now, go forth and see which road leads man to the life of the future world? Surely it is suffering.
~Genesis Rabbah IX.8
