FINALLY, my article got printed. I wrote it over a month ago, and at last it's online. There will be a follow-up next week (when, of course, I'll be out of town). Check out my work hereQotD ( Read more... )

Congratulation! And congratulation on finding an editor that actually wants you to write things!

I have to admit I had stopped checking the site daily for the second time... I guess the lesson is to never give up!

Are you gonna be in town for FNM this or next week?

Thanks! Despite his dropping my article like a thousand times, I guess I like Craig because he thinks I'm good! Also, he's English, so that's tizight ... I mean tisight.

I'm leading services this Friday, so that's a no-go. Next week, I really hope to go because I want to see the new game center before I leave! I'm thinking of taking Hugh Moore's Chalice BUG (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=mtgcom/daily/mf105). What do you think? All I need are Plaxmantas and Trygon Predators plus Iwamori and Perseucte for the 'board.

Once you get to Charlottesville, you should draft downtown at 7:00 PM on Fridays. ;)

Unfortunately for my Magic-playing, my observation of the Jewish Sabbath generally occurs on Friday nights. :-)

Blast! Foiled by organized religion again!

Well, there's always constructed Standard Sundays at 1 PM at The End. :/

Didn't know about those Constructed tourneys. People at The End haven't been very friendly to me the one or two times I went there, though. Is the prize structure worth checking it out?

It's really not. $5 entry fee, all of the entry fees get split amongst top 4 or top 8 as store credit. Thing is, store credit is nigh-worthless there. $33 for a Stomping Ground? Riiiiiight.

And $40 for a Pithing Needle. Marvelous.

However, although they charge more, they'll also give more than most other sources. I trade a lot online, and it seems like it might be a good idea to gather a horde of Circus for $2.25 apiece and trade them to The End for $6.00 apiece. Certainly something to look into. :)

The other thing is he likes to change prices on the fly. "Oh, you have Circus? I don't really need those right now, so I'll only give you $3.50 for them." It's usually not worth the effort and expense to try to buy cards somewhere else to trade in, although occasionally you can get some ridiculous deals (a while ago you could get $10 credit for a Rumbling Slum).

Oh, and don't bother trying to get $2 Troll Ascetics, he's been out since the day it got voted into Tenth Edition. :P
