So I'm having a saga of Dental work, my old dentist screwed up everything, litterally, and now after months of treatments and proceedures i'll soon be getting some proper caps, bridges etc. And as you'd expect its costing a small fortune, and I do plan to get a refund from the old guy for screwing this all up so bad.
My Endo was horrified, litterally horrified at what he saw. He had done crown lengthening on me, and implants just before I got married, using the awesome COBRA coverage insurance I had back then. While the insurance had no yearly maximum, most the work requires me to pay 50% of crowns (only one implant was covered 50%) etc and I spent my savings, over 5k on all this work... and it was all wrecked by bad crowns. Luckily for me, my Endo had a patient cancelation, my appointment was supposed to be 30 min, max an hour. I was there almomst 3 hours till like 7pm! He took X-rays, pictures, studies and then we talked about price and what my husbands dental plan covered (1500 a year max)
And this all lead to needing to buy a Waterpik to help heal and help maintain my soon to be new bridges, caps and crowns and such. So I look online and cheapest of the kind I need are 50 bucks! and the best one for my uses is likely the WP-100, its 60 most places, Walmart had it for 57. I was very discouraged.
However those new coupon queen shows as well as a new ad campaign at Walmart remided me of thier price match guarentee. And a local-ish (its in Miami) store had an advertisement on Craigslist with the same item for only 37. So I called up and asked about the program, even confirmed with a manager if this place counted, and it did. So I happily printed everything out eventually (Printer issues) and also at the last moment found a 5 dollar off coupon on Waterpik's site. I figured worse case, I'd save the 5 bucks.
Well I went to the store, the cashier asked a guy (asst mgr?) who said No, but I heard the voice of the nice lady Manager I spoke with online, and she said "Sure we do" and I gave them the coupon to toss out, and she lady manager said "Lets see if it takes the coupon too" and it did. So I got a 60 dollar machine for 32 bucks. Can't complain about that... and at a time I need every penny.
And it REALLY is helping, its called a water flosser and it does a fantastic job I must say. I'm a rabid popcorn lover, snack wise, and I am good with picks and brushes, swishing water/mouthwash and even those pipe cleaner looking "proxy brushes" too... and it STILL got out stuff that I didn't know was caught up between teeth or under the temporaries I have. I like the warm water too, it feels nice, and I actually recommend this to you now, We're in a much more dental conscious age, growing up I didn't even know what floss was for years, and I've learned the herd way both the need of it and other things to keep teeth and mouth healthy. This is something I like, alot more then other things I've used, and its easy to use and doesn't hurt. :-)
