What a weekend!!

So! I went to Ann Arbor Friday night and hung out with Alex and his friend Jesse. Very cute friend Jesse, I must add. It was an adventurous evening- I think I almost lost my mind from the fun trip. :)

Saturday was not as eventful, but cool. I found out my brakes will cost me
$586 dollars. Does that sound like I'm getting ripped off? It does to me. They had to order the parts plus my back brakes had to be completely replaced- calipers, pads, rotors. I have the money but I am going to AL this week- I could have sorely used the cash in funding my trip. Oh well. I'd rather my brakes NOT go out. Plus I don't have a car payment, and I am not paying rent right now, so I guess it all evens out. I do know that if this had happened while I was in AL just working at Outback, there would be no way for me to afford such a huge pricetag. God sure does in mysterious ways.

Saturday night was interesting. Natalie and I went to see her friend Tim's band, Friends of Dennis Wilson. Their lead singer Tony is nuts, verifiably. He was jumping all over the stage, on top of Tim's organ, getting on the ground on his knees and sliding down and lying on his back. Then he'd hop up and go rampaging all over the stage again. I met his 60's-ish inspired father and retro-leather jacket wearing girlfriend. They were so cute!! We got blitzed in the little anteroom behind the stage. Free beer will do that to you. I am such a lightweight that I actually got kind of sick. Another "do not drink that much that quickly" story. The band was pretty good though- not exactly what I expected, but Tony sounded good and the last song they played- a non-vocal guitar jammed-out piece, was really awesome. I also got to meet the headlining band's drummer. They were from Israel and put on a kick-butt show. Very talented musicians.

I got to meet the rest of the Friends band. The bass player Matt was cool, and by far the nicest to me (other than Tim- but he doesn't count). I felt so embarrassed when I started feeling a little too intoxicated. But it ended up being alright. I got home, went to bed, and promptly got up 5 and a half hours later for church. Can we say hangover during choir practice? I felt like such a hypocrite!

I went to work last night at the Outback and found out my Saturday evening was not as eventful as the people who had worked that night. I am so glad i didn't work! Be mindful that my proprietor is on vacation and Laura, the assistant manager, who is awesome, is 21, and was kind of on her own when all this craziness happened:
1. My friend Dan (or Dank, as we call him) was getting triple sat like crazy so he complained to the host stand.
2. The hostess, Ruth, started crying.
3. Dank got upset and quit (which I've seen him threaten to do many times).
4. Dank's roommate Larry got mad that Dank quit so he punched the peanut M&M rotating candy holder and broke the plastic (huge hole!)
5. Larry got fired.
6. Brian, this creepy 17 year old busser (who constantly drives everyone nuts with his weird advances), cupped the butt of my friend Jillian. He never apologized and continued to laugh while Jillian grabbed his arm and asked him what the f*** he was doing.
7. Brian got fired for sexual harrassment.
8. Two groups of Chaldean guys (early twenties) got into a fight in the bar area.
9. The police were called bc talk of guns was overheard.
10. They didn't actually fight in the restaurant, but started hitting each other outside. The police came, took all their info (license plate #'s etc) and now these guys are banned from the West Bloomfield Outback.
11. Another guy, completely separate from the fight, passed out before getting sat at a table.
12. The hostess, Michelle, tried to get him to sit down, but he insisted on going back to his car.
13. On his way out, the guy passed out AGAIN! in the foyer, face down. They had to call an ambulance. They think it was from exhaustion or something- but the guy was okay after that.
14. Everyone had to stay and close the restaurant together and have an emergency meeting. They didn't leave until almost 1 am.
15. All of this craziness happened within the span of 30 minutes-hour.

That is the crazy place that I work at. Last night (Sunday) was of course, not as exciting. Jesse was down from Ann Arbor to see his rents, and my car was at the shop, so he came and gave me a ride home. We got a slurpee- so romantic, I know. That boy is too sweet.

So! I am off to drop almost 600 bucks on my car and then I will be closing the restaurant tonight. Yippee!! This was a really long post but I had so much to say!
