Bonjour mes amis!
I miss all of you terribly. I love my classes so much this semester. I traded my history class for political science, which is great and my teacher is Jim Howell, the ex-state rep., and even though we don't quite agree, he is a great teacher! My music appretiation class that is mandatory is hilarious. Everyday the fruity little guy comes in and says okay peeples, lets study this thingy! Haha you can imagine me laughing especially when he played this song last week about pink and green boxes and going to university and it sounded like he was on lsd and stuff!ha! My math prof. is from Saudi Arabia i think and he is great! I took my first test today, and considering noone can quite understand him, i think i did pretty well.
So, how has your first week been? Everyone let me know. Is anything a lot different from last semester? I'm thinking about going home for this semester if SVSU will reimburse me. This is rediculous with the stairs and the icy sidewalks that they don't salt. i honestly might die, so i am requesting an early termination of my contract until next year. Most all of my roomates aren't coming back next year cause of the money and things, but most people here just decide to fail all of their classes and smoke. It must be the new cool thing to do, to waste all of your parents or your money(which ever the case) and never I mean never go to class. I'm not talking about skipping a couple classes here and there. I'm talking about never going, which is the case with the majority of the freshmen here. I'm not saying that I am a Tony Au prodigy or anything, but I think that I could face a little more challenge than this. THe environment has changed here. It's not that I don't like the school itself, it's that I don't like the people besides a select few, and that's pretty hard for me to do. Normally I like everyone. At the rate I am going, in this slum I think i might be the valedictorian of my graduating class or something HAHA( that is if i don't decide to switch colleges I suppose) :). So at this point I'm thinking about which other colleges would make me happy. Not somewhere too big, not somewhere stuffy, not somewhere all party, who knows????
I know a lot of people in our group have changed their minds this semester, or haven't made up their minds yet. This is fine! Good for you for following your instincts. Whether it was coming home this semester, changing colleges next year, or making plans for your future, I am proud of you for doing what you need to. It takes a lot of courage to do something that maybe not many people favor. Make the best of your future and learn from your mistakes.
Good luck to everyone this semester. I can't wait for this summer together!
