Bad Theatre Made Good!

So out here in Indiana, there is a theatre company called Lincoln. They are our sister theatre and we try to support eachother, you know, going to eachother's opening nights and all. Well.....Lincoln's opening show is a musical about the life of Abe Lincoln called "Young Abe". So needless to say, it's not the coolest show ever. Matter of fact, it's a very campy show full of great hits like "Oh shucks" and "Gee Haw Diddie Diddie" or what ever. SO... we didn't go opening night b/c we were running our show, so we heard about how bad of a show it was. Not b/c of the actors/dancers, but b/c of the story. We were told to not see the show sober. So.. we didn't. We got home at 4o'clock on Wednesday and went to dinner. It was Matt the sound designer, Steif the props assistant, Angie and Rob my electricians, Suzie assistant company manger and myself. After dinner and drinks, we replaced the water in the dasani bottles with rum and vodka, replaced coke for Jack, and so grape juice bottles of wine. It was an hour long drive there, which went by much faster with our drinks and eighties music. We met up with stagemanagment and costumers and found our seats in the back of the amphitheatre. 1500 seat house with only maybe 150 people there. The show turned out to be much better than we thought..... I don't know why that was...? Sara and I were mixing drinks during the show passing them out to our group. We got a little loud, and was a lil afraid the actors/dancers would be upset. But after talking to them, they said they loved it. It was the first time they said that they got a laugh at every joke in the show. So it was a good night! We can't wait to go back and see Fiddler...!
