The light at the end of the tunnel is awfully complicated.

The LCD was ordererd thursday, it was hoped it would be courier-delivered friday. It wasn't; this leaves the delivery day till monday - except I won't be home monday, so the darn thing will end up at the depot, and I'll have to chase it up on Wedensday, my earliest free day. It's not Ascent's fault - they can't do anything about the ineptness of couriers, which is where the problem apparently lies - but that doesn't make it any less annoying, does it?

Also apparently folks got the wrong impression by the last post that I was getting a whole new boxen from somewhere - I'm not. What my parents have offered is to have the farm pay for the parts I buy, and for me to pay my parents back, on the basis that this means we can claim back the GST, thus saving 12.5% on the whole deal. Not a free or complete boxen, just a mildly surreptious way of saving money on the stuff I'm purchasing, which helps make the whole deal more affordable (aka a little less painful) for me. Can't complain, right?

The complicated bit here is that I haven't told them I may have been receiving parts from elsewhere in the process, and would rather not have that arguement until I know just how much Stuff I end up getting, if any. So, uh, we'll have to see how that works out. I have a couple theories on what I'll do regarding fast-talking them when the time comes; I'll work out which I'll use when I find out if I get anything beforehand.
