[Character Name] Raziel
[Canon] Legacy of Kain
[Point Taken from Canon] Soul Reaver 2; after the death of Janos Audron
[Age] About 1500 or so, maybe more maybe less.
[Gender] Male.
[Sexual Orientation] Dude, I have no clue. I'm just going to say an X on the Kinsey scale for ease.
[Eye Color] Man, idk if he even has eyes anymore. For all we know, that's the essence of his soul, peering out at you through empty eyesockets.
[Hair Color] Black.
[Height] Uh. Idk; he's shorter than Kain and Janos and most of his enemies, but he's not entirely tiny, either.
[Other] Oh, he's just missing his skin and internal organs. And his muscles are bleached blue. Nothing big.
[Clothing] A cowl, some leg armor, and wraps around his arms. Yeah, he's p. much naked.
[Background]
Like hell am I typing this out.
[Personality]
The most prominent part of Raziel's personality has to be his moral code and his noblesse oblige; if he believes the people he's working with are, in fact, good - despite that word being loosely used in canon - there's high chance he'll treat them with respect and wish them no ill will. He won't harm who he deems to be innocent and unconnected to his paths or goals; however, those who cross him will be met with a cold, uncaring demeanor and a fast death. Possibly even anger, if you happen to harm him personally (such as Kain and the Sarafan had). If someone does manage to cross him (which is surprisingly not hard), there's a high chance he'll just attempt to take their life then and there, not caring what happens to them after death; he'll attack in a cold, quick, and almost frenzied manner, with no real fighting style - it's obvious all he wants is to end it quickly and to stop wasting his time.
Raziel is, unfortunately for him, very, very easy to blindly lead around for someone else's gain. His sense of righteousness and passion for his goals allows him to be led like a blind goat at times, believing that everything he does will be for a good cause. That's almost always never the case; he rarely ends up with unambiguous ethical actions and judgment, doing the wrong things for the right reasons. He's almost the personification of black and grey morality in this case, as well as the yin to Kain's yang -- Kain, who always does the right things for the glaringly wrong reasons. Above all this, however, Raziel is not the kind to double cross an ally, unless he believes he was double crossed first. Then, it's just exacting the proper payment. He is good to his allies, though; whether he likes them or not (until the time comes for him to call treachery, of course). Because he's been led around and double crossed so often, Raziel is, sadly, a bit bitter and paranoid of those who are trying to help him. The only person he revered with true kindness was Janos Audron; and that is only because Janos's whole purpose was to help Raziel, along with having the answers Raziel sought. To loop back around to the beginning of this, Raziel is well aware that he's easily led around, and he hates it; though really, this is only one thing he hates about himself. He's met himself from the past, after all; the amount of self loathing Raziel has is kind of unimaginable.
Imagine if you went back in time, only to see yourself kill your best friend. That's about how much he hates himself.
Despite being such an aloof and cold character, he's not one to dwell on things or some such - he'll often ramble about his surroundings quite a bit, but almost instantly discards unnecessary information. It's the same with people; if they have no answers or anything to aid him, he's likely to ignore or push them away. Along with this, despite being cold and uncaring, he's actually not very violent - unlike other characters that fall under this stereotype. He's more driven into violence instead of actively seeking it out; he sometimes uses violence as a threat to get his way, but never really acts upon it. He's probably just as likely to talk it out, if he believes the person he's speaking to is rational and willing to listen or compromise. Raziel is a rather intelligent character as well; able to easily piece apart puzzles and knowing many things that others don't. Of course, that's likely because he's older than dirt. Who knows.
[Specialties/Abilities] The Reaver - Raziel's wraith blade and symbiotic weapon - is (technically) his main ability. He's capable of calling it at will, as it resides within himself.
Raziel is capable of imbuing the Reaver with many different elements, with their own abilities there of; however, he needs a font to do so. A font is basically what an outlet is to a plug; he dips the Reaver in the energy flowing from the font, and the Reaver thus gains the element's energy. Dark allows him to create bridges of shade, light... is actually fairly normal, aside from being a nice reading lamp possibly, fire is obvious, and air can create blasts of wind capable of breaking down doors.
ALSO BECAUSE LAE IS A WONDERFUL PERSON it's been decided that he can use elements in Somarium, just using natural objects - dipping it into a normal flame imbues it with flame, a bright, concentrated light will imbue it with light, and so on. Of course, this means he'll be jamming his sword into a lot of hair dryers.
As a native of the spectral realm (spirit world, ghost realm, whatever you want to call it), Raziel is capable of shifting between planes. There is no location change; simply a plane change. He would still remain in Somarium, he'd just... be a ghost for a while. Running out of stamina can also force him into the spectral realm.
In Somarium, he rather just turns ghostly instead of shifting planes; the same goes for when he's "killed".
He's also capable of mundane abilities; scaling walls like Spiderman, firing bolts and spheres of telekinetic energy, gliding from place to place, and swimming. Swimming is the more important one of note, considering he's a vampire wraith.
He's got an insane amount of strength - able to lift and move blocks of pure steel about his height - but it shouldn't be too bad in game.
It should be of note; though he needs to consume souls within the Legacy of Kain series, it's unneeded in Somarium - so you don't have to worry about him killing anyone just to eat or anything, and the same goes for the Reaver.
[Affection] If they can put up with hugging/kissing a carcass's flayed, bleached and possibly rotting muscles, go ahead. As for things he'd return, he kind of lacks a jaw so unfortunately no lady's getting a kiss from this handsome piece of flesh. As for hugs, expect possibly a Voldemort style one.
[Fighting] Fight and injure, yes; kill, probably not. He can't really "die", as it is. As for Razzybutt, he doesn't invoke fights unless you royally piss him off (coughKaincough).
Be warned, though; he's very, very powerful, very, very fast, and very, very hard to kill - not only that, but his Reaver can pop you like a grape and consume your soul in a flash of light. Just keep in mind that unless your character has a lot of super strength for a human, there's a highly good chance that they won't be able to overpower him in a fight, magic or no; he's easily beheaded men probably twice the size of most of the humans here that also trained their whole life to fight creatures like him. He can kill an average person with just a shot of his telekinesis.
I'm not saying I'll be stupid and go NO YOU CAN'T DEFEAT RAZIEL THAT'S STUPID
because that's. Well, it's stupid. But what I am saying is if your character is like, say, Jackie Chan or someodd... well, imagine a fight between Jackie Chan and Super Saiyan Goku. There you go.
Vampires and other super natural beings that are stronger than humans have a better chance against him because well. Well, he's one of them. 8|a
So just... if your character does fight Raziel, be realistic. Your teenage character would not fair well in a fight with him. (Hence why I'm actually going to dodge a lot of possible fights because hell if I want that and also because lol what is writing fight scenes.)
And none of this applies if you're Kain. Kain.
[Other Permissions] Go nuts. But be wary, he's constantly bitter and old and Shakespearean, so have fun untangling his complex and depressing thoughts.
As for fourth walling, I'd rather we not. Besides, who the hell has even played these obscure as hell games, I mean really.
[Other Facts] Well, considering he's basically bathed in blood multiple times, swam through lakes of stagnant water, sloshed through gigantic swamps, and suffered walking through flames, I'd say he probably has a mighty powerful smell about him. Also he's a corpse. That kinda lends more to the "he'll probably knock you out just by being in your airspace" train of thought.
Also you really really might want to just go through his app. It's way more informative.
