I know that ancarett posted phone number contacts, which is a brilliant way to get a hold of SixApart; however, I've also seen some members expressing concern with the inability to call overseas. If you can't call (or just don't wish to), but still wish to be heard, the SixApart's management page may be a good place to start ( Read more... )

I've removed my autopayments and will no longer be paying for an account. Thanks for pointing out that page.

thanks for the info.

Any claims about having 'shut down real pedophiles on LJ' are highly suspect. True pedophiles are like cockroaches; they were hidden long before LJ got around to deleting/suspending journals if they ever even existed. Until I see proof that they actually got something more than fen that feature chan or shota, I will not believe any such reports.

That's one of the biggest problems I have with WFI. All they did was alert possible offenders with what not to advertise with - not that I believe many, if any, would have had those 'trigger words' listed in the first place.

People are also voicing their concerns and anger here and reminding the LJ staff that they will not be giving any financial support in future if the situation is not clarified and rectified in a satisfactory manner.

I left a calm and reasoned voicemail that's sure to be ignored...but I had to try something. My emails were being ignored, and all I learned is that my five-year account was suspended because I included the word "rape" in my interests in my profile...but the problem is, the word was only there because livejournal included a clickable link allowing me to add the interests of the abuse survivor websites I belonged to (so I could be easily found in a search)...and don't you think that if I were going to be suspended for having this interest, Livejournal shouldn't have advertised a clickable link encouraging me to add the interest in the first place? No one seems to want to answer this question, and it frustrates me.

I'd sure like to have thought so. Sadly how we know better today.

So much for the sale to SA and the adverts not having any effect on us mere site users.

I don't know what your plans/thoughts are, and as much as I think it would be proper for you to have your account unsuspended, I'm not certain how feasible a wish that is. :| At the very least, I do hope you get answers. If there's anything I can do, shout.

It isn't resorting to blackmail -- it's called market pressure, and it's the only voice we have that corporations will listen to.

An excellent point, and I fully agree. :)

My concern with the blackmailing mark was due to the large amount of people I've seen flinging it around re: what wfi did in pressuring lj/6A, and a possible way to distance ourselves from their type of behavior while reassuring that we can do this without Being Like Them.

Hopefully I made sense. ::grin:: Was tailgated all the way home and am a little peeved at the moment, and not exactly at my most articulate.
