1. What did you do in 2006 that you’d never done before?
I went to Canada!

2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't really make resolutions.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Amy, a co-worker @ LC.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Thankfully, no. A very, very old friend from middle/high school. Sadly, when my best friend from high school told me, I couldn't even remember her...

5. What countries did you visit?
Canada and Mexico.

6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006?
A new phone.

7. What dates from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
November elections, the dems taking Congress...May 1st, the day all those people attended rallies across the country supporting illegal immigrants. The photos were just amazing...

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Surviving file reading season and being called one of the best first-year counselors at L&C.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Letting my professional life take over my whole life.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
A bit of a bout with ye ole stomach ulcer mid-file-reading season.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
This great blue, pink, purple stripped shirt from BR in LA.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Matt Poole.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
W.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Rent, eating out, savings.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Abby's visit(s) to Portland, and the start of travel season.

Julieta Venegas' "Lento".

a) Sadder, as this time last year, I knew exactly what was happening in my life, and right now, I'm more confused than ever.
b) that doens't really change for me...
c) Richer since I got a raise last summer and started a savings account.

18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Reading for pleasure.

19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Sit on the couch and watch L&O: SVU.

20. How did you spend Christmas?
With my family eating lots of food.

21. Did you fall in love in 2006?
Almost.

Give me a second...2?

Grey's Anatomy

24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
I don't think so...at least no one I didn't already hate.

The Line of Beauty by Alan Hollingshurst.

Julieta Venegas.

27. What did you want and get?
I wanted a Mr.Third-Gear, and I got one.

28. What did you want and not get?
A new phone.

29. What was your favorite film of this year?
The new Bond movie. That man is a stone fox.

30. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I had the best birthday! I flew to SF and stayed with Sol, met some great folks from Kenyon College, and partied we partied are asses off! (See previous birthday post.)

31. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
First-class.

32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2006?
For work: colorful. For play: basics.

33. What kept you sane?
The internet.

34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Anderson Cooper.

35. What political issue stirred you the most?
Immigration.

36. Who did you miss?
Abby. Sol. Ray.

37. Who was the best new person you met?
This is a toughie...I've met tons of new people...I'm going to have to go with Meghan Bean, though. Adrienne @ work, Davin @ Tufts are both very close seconds...

38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2006.
I think I played it a little too safe this year...If anything, I'm learning it takes more to challenge myself now that I'm out of school. The challenges don't just come at you anymore, you have to go and find them.
