I found out that airlines can refuse to fly you if you are visibly in pain. I found out what EMTs sound like with Boston accents. I found out what it’s like to be transferred to ICU. (Scary and efficient!) I found out that low sodium can be a serious problem and keep you in the ICU for a few days ( Read more... )

I am home from the hospital. Again. Wow, there has been a lot of hospital in my life this year.

I am grateful.  I have great health insurance coverage.  I live in a city known for its excellent hospitals.  They took really good care of me.  People always talk about how awful it is to be in the hospital, but really, a room in UH's Seidman building ( Read more... )
