The problem with armor

Straps break.
Rivets snap.
Metal deforms.
Rusts.
Rips.

It's heavy.
It pinches.

Armor bites the soft skin of inner elbow and thigh.
Rips small bits of hair twisted on articulations and bolts.

But identity settles over you
belonging
strength
protection
endurance.

You are tough. You are whole.
You are blue steel and sure hands.

At the end of the day, the problem with armor is:
You have to take it off.
