Write a letter to yourself as a child.

Dear younger Susan,
No, that won't work. I'd never open a letter that was addressed like that.

To: Susan Sto-Helit,
c/o Miss Butts,
Quirm College for Young Ladies

Yes, that's far better.

Hello. I'm not going to bother saying who this is, as you'd never believe it and probably just think one of the other girls had pulled a joke at your expense. Let's just say I know who you are and I'm not a crazy stalker.

Right, I'm going to believe that.

I have some advice for you, and whether or not you take it is entirely up to you. You likely won't, so I'll make this short.

You hate your name. Deal with it. You'll come to learn that being a Susan isn't as bad as you think, and it'll at least help in keeping your head when strange things happen. And the strange will come, as much as you will hope it'll go away. It'll be beyond your control, but you will be able to help, and it's always satisfying to know you're the intelligent one.
Yes, this is cryptic, but you will come to know what I mean.

*Susan pauses, unsure if she should add what she's thinking. It's only a letter to herself, but it's still so... silly.*

There will be a boy. You'll feel like you have to help him- which you do. Try not to get too attached, because he's going to forget you. But if you don't get attached, maybe he won't be saved...

*Susan stares at the letter for a moment, then shakes her head. This wouldn't do. She crumples it up and tosses it into the fireplace, then addresses a new piece of paper.*

You don't have to disappear so much.
