"Come with me. Just one more step and You'll be in Paradise. Green, green, lovely trees shading your every move.  The birds will sing their song for you, and I will make you mine forever."
"Don't talk of such things! There is no such thing as Paradise for a girl like me. No one can bring me that.  They've tried you know."
"They? Of course they failed. They aren't me, Love. I never fail. And I can prove it to you. Just come with me. Right through the door. Its just a door, whats the worst that can happen? You're with me, just me, and I can keep you safe."
"Just a door? Just? Haha. You talk such nonsense.  A door can lead to anything and everything, Yes, even Paradise. A door holds more secrets the the walls that can't talk. A door is anything but something to attached 'just' onto. A door is a wish that might come true." The ruffles of her skirt swayed between her legs, caressing them and sending shivers down her delicate back.
His laugh echoes through the empty...the empty space that they occupy. Does he dare mock her? Think her silly?
"You truely are... Well, you are a darling..creature. You don't pay attention to my gift of riddles and sweet talk. What is it that you want? And not simply a taste of chocolate or to go to one of your silly dances. What do you truely want, from living, from life?"
Her laugh. Her soft, quiet laugh bounced off of the nothingness around and beyond the door. A mere mortal held power of him. It was wrong. Her laugh almost crippled him to the floor,or where it would seem to be, mocking him and his need to bite into her soft flesh and make her join him for eternity.
"You want me to answer with that, don't you? You want me to say 'Change me. Make me one of you, making me stay by your side and accompaning your evilness, making it feel right." Thats not it. I could never live for an eternity. It just, lasts too long. A  few life times would be good enough. Eternity is a curse. One you should know all too well, Monsieur.
"You haven't answered my question."
"I don't want anything more.  A simple answer."
"You lie. I can smell it on you."
She could tell he had barred his gleaning, sharp teeth. He was bitter as a jealous schoolgirl. She laughed again.
"I want....Haha, You could never give me what I want."
"How can that work when I already have?"
"You can't because I don't know what I want. So you cannot know, for that would be what you would think I wanted. Now leave me. I tire of your petty words. You are nothin-..."
His lips were dead cold, even as they burned with passion and lust. he wanted her. He would never have her again.
"I take my leave. You now have nowhere to go but in through the door before you."
He vanished, dissolved into the shadows.
She opened the light door and closed her eyes. She fell into the oblivion beyond it, never knowing her Paradise.

"Its alright, its just me. You're safe. I promise. Its just me. Just rest, we'll talk tomorrow."
Adrian? How was she here, now? Why was she curled up beside him?
She tensed up. He was whispering to her.
She would be alright, just until the morning. Adrian would see to that, and she fell asleep again, still tense about her dreams even within the safe arms of a caring embrace.
