Being prodded by Dan

Sep 21, 2009 10:07

Apparently I haven't posted enough. Thus I get an email prod from Mr Q (it still worries me that isn't a code name for a contact inside the FSB working for 6. Oh well.) asking me to post.

So I shall, although I am not certain I have a lot interesting to say!

I am now a merchandiser for work. Still the same company with the blue and red signs. We take plans from head office, take shelves and stock, and make the two match. Unfortunately some other people who work there (lets call them "the rest") don't understand this concept.

Basically they would happily have the place look like a blue peter bring and buy sale, just with a slightly more structured pricing system, and cashiers.

"Oh yes. Shampoo. Thats probably over there on that shelf between the cat food and the oil fragrance burners".

I am guessing this is already boring you, so I won't inflict you with how many ways this plan goes wrong, and what we do to solve it. Suffice to say it keeps me entertained, its a full time job, mostly working 7am-4pm, so I get evenings, and would you believe it Monday to Friday. For retail thats almost unheard of.

The reason I am not there now is that Monday is my late shift, I work an 11-8, but its the only one. Not a bad thing.

So sadly thats about it for news really. The nights are drawing in again so sharply now, and the weather is going to turn cold pretty soon I think. Already started mixing the de-icer into the screen wash....

Fiona and I need to come to Aber sometime. Can't say when yet, because we don't know, although it will be post Christmas at the earliest I think. Whilst we have a few things to do of our own, if people need to use us as a "resource" (thanks Ruth, what a lovely word :P) we would probably be up for it.

All the best to everyone -
Kit
