Today with the greatest pleasure I would like to introduce my dear friend, former co-worker, crazy optimist and constant sunshine, Kendra Edmondson. Fun and laughs are where Kendra is. Wise for her age, strong professional with exceptional work ethic, Kendra would be a compliment for any successful and respectable company. Unfortunately for all the companies, she is employed and happy with her job!
Kendra, what do you do for life and what is your position called?
I work for a company that manufacturers Ladders and Solar lighting, my position is Key Customer Sales and Marketing Coordinator.
Where are you originally from?
I was born and raised in Canada, but my mother is Italian and my father is Scottish.
A few words, please, about your family, parents, siblings
I have three wonderful parents, all whom are in the teaching profession, I have an older sister and half- twin brother and sister.
What was your dream as a child? Did it come true?
As a child, I grew up around teachers, I always thought I wanted to become a teacher, I used to play teacher with all my stuffed-animals as students when I was a little kid. That dream changed around 15, when I went to high-school, then I knew I wanted to become a business professional, and one day own my own business. So far, half of my dream came true, I still have plenty of time to start my own business though.
What was your first job and what was your worst job?
My first job was a dish-washer. I was 12! (Which is un-heard of now). My older sister worked in a local restaurant, they needed a part-time dishwasher, so she volunteered me. It paid cash, I was the richest 12 year old out there. My worst job was picking and packing tomatoes. I grew up in the Tomato capital of Canada, so there wasn't much else to do when you need a full-time summer job.
Do you like to travel and where would you like to go?
I've really only recently begun to travel. I absolutely love it. My favorite place is Barbados. I would love to do a Europe tour, but also would love to go to the Maldives. I find I'm most at home in the Caribbean though, maybe I had another life there at some point. I would love to travel to South Africa just so I can see penguins in their natural habitat. (I love penguins)
What do you like to do when you have time, your hobbies?
I Love spending time with friends and family, getting to go back to Leamington to visit. I also really enjoy yoga and working out. And movies, my boyfriend and I love watching movies.
What part of your job do you like the most?
I love that my job allows me to be very creative. I always loved art, and creative writing, so I love that my job has these aspects as well.
What is success for you?
Success to me is a balance of life; Love, work, health, and play. To have a healthy balance of each of these things and be happy doing it, means I have been success in life.
What do you still want to achieve?
I have a lot in life that I would like to achieve, from the small things, like waking up 15 minutes earlier in the morning, to the big things, like eventually owning my own event planning company, and starting a family.
Is there anything you are afraid of?
Snakes!! Definitely Snakes, they terrify me.
What is home for you?
For me, home is where the people I love are. I've moved so often in my life, that I don't think of a building or structure as my home. It's where the people I care about most are.
