Handymen Gone Handless or possibly brainfree!

Sometimes I really wish I could press an "undo" button on some of the home improvements and upgrades I see around

1. Have a look at this wonderful picture below featuring a "door-holder". Door-holder is sitting straight on a very expensive, recently installed hardwood floor.

2. Another "upgrade" I discovered during the showing just 2 days ago and unfortunately did not take a picture as the "upgrade" almost sent me flying head first down to the basement.
Apparently the stairs leading down from the main floor got a little worn out, so the owner got the "upgraded" by simply nailing the hardwood planks on the top of the existing stairs. It wouldn't be too bad, but the new "step" did not entirely cover the old "step", leaving about 2-inch mini step at the edge. So, when walking down and shifting the weight of your body from the heel to the toe you are inevitably losing balance.

3. Another house had a washer and dryer in the basement conveniently placed to block the door leading to a storage room.

4. And below is a sample of bedroom door upgrade that makes my brain explode. Please, pay special attention to the top right corner of the door.

This marvelous creation can even close, oh, well, partially.... But who cares, when color and lovely paint-work just makes everything else disappear.

Dear Homeowners! Before going for such extravagant upgrades, please, try picturing yourself for just a second in your buyers' shoes!
