Whenever I read a really long comment thread on an article (20+ users), I like to try to determine the prevailing opinion among the users and to look for dissent. Often, I find that there is one opinion that's generally held, plus some comments in disagreement, and one or two comments that either try to reconcile the two sides or make fun of everyone else for taking shit so seriously.
