Weird times at Devonwood High......
So this is weird and maybe I'm just reading too much into this but lately at Devonwood I've been getting these weird signs that maybe I shouldn't be there as much or maybe even at all....
If you read my last post about the not being invited to the bonfire and the mother telling me that I wasn't on a co-worker's list of "christmas candy cups," then you kinda understand what I'm talking about. Those events happened last weekend. This weekend I have two new "odd" events.
Saturday, I was driving into work and right before I turn into the driveway for work I turn on my blinker (eventhough most Florida drivers don't even seem to know what that means around here) slow down and wait to turn left. Then all I hear are squealing tires and I have just enough time to look into my rearview mirrors to see a car coming at me and thinking to myself "well this is gonna be fun." So needless to say I got rear-ended turning into work.
And today I was simply bringing one of the horses in from the pasture, as I do almost everyday. And just like everday I opened her stall door and it slid to the side, but unbenknown to me it kept sliding and hit the water pipe that connects to the hose in the center of the barn, snapping the water pipe in half and gushing gallons out of the pipe. Now I try to access the situation as water is pouring out onto everything, in the process losing the contact out of my left eye and soaking every inch of the front of my body.
Needless to say I turned off the water and oddly enough one of the girls who rides there has a father who's a plumber so he came out and fixed it right away. No real problem.
But the weird thing is this. As I was watering later that night I just happened to think, well damn next thing I know I'll have the four elements beating down my door and telling me I should quit this job..... then I thought about that a little more......
Four elements:
Woman telling me about the fact that I wasn't included in her daughter's Christmas gifts: human voice = wind / air
Not being invited to the New Year's eve bonfire (which I still had to build earlier that day) = fire
Being rear-ended by a car = earth (elements of earth all throughout the car and the car could easily represent the earth in almost all its aspects, well except for that fact that emissions from cars kills the earth but whatever)
Being soaked from head to toe in a freak water pipe breaking = water
To me that just seemed a little too freaking odd to be coincidence and the fact that nothing really bad has happened to me in the last 3 months working there and then these 4 things in two weekends in a row????
ODD....
Just wanted to throw this out there to all you guys and see if I'm just over-analyzing stuff (as I have a way to do) or if this really seems weird to everyone else out there too.
Oh and just to let you all know, the accident didn't really do much but shift my back bumper down an inch or so and cause a few cracks in it (it is plastic remember) and I'm pretty much fine, but working the entire day plus the accident did kinda aggrivate my old lower back injury but my heating pad has become my best friend for the last two days so I'm doing fine.
And just to let you know I have applied or at least sent out resumes to about 8 or so companies in the last month trying to find a better paying job, gotten 3 no's back so far, but keep me in your thoughts for the others.
