Book the Ninety-Fifth to Book the Hundredth

Okay, so . . . procrastination being my closest friend, as always, I'm about 15 books behind on reviews for the year, and I don't really feel like writing them, so . . . I'm not going to. I'll list them all here, with the usual starter information, but I won't get into my thoughts on each specifically, unless you ask me to go into more detail on one or another of them.

Book the Ninety-Fifth
Title: Sunlight and Shadow
Author: Cameron Dokey
Page Count: 184
Status: Reread
Synopsis: Mina is a girl-child born on the longest night of the darkest month of the year to Pamina, the Queen of the Night and Sarastro, the Mage of the Day. When her father looked at her, all he saw was what he feared: By birth, by name, by nature, she belonged to the Dark. So when Minda turned sixteen, her father took her away from shadow and brought her into sunlight. In retaliation, her mother lured a handsome prince into a deadly agreement: If he frees Mina, he can claim her as his bride. Now Mina and her prince must endure deadly trials -- of love and fate and family -- before they can truly live happily ever after.

Book the Ninety-Seventh

Status: Reread
Synopsis: Young, beautiful, and wealthy, Emma Pennington is accustomed to a very comfortable life. Although war rages abroad, she hardly feels its effect. She and her mother travel from their home in Britain to the family estate in Belgium, never imagining that the war could reach them there. But it does. Soon Emma finds herself stranded in a war-torn country, utterly alone. Enemy troops fight to take over her estate, leaving her with no way to reach her family and no way out. With all of her attention focused on survival and escape, Emma hardly expects to find love. But the war will teach her that life is unpredictable, people aren't always what they seem, and magic is lurking everywhere.

Book the Ninety-Eighth
Title: Nightlight: A Parody
Author: The Harvard Lampoon
Page Count: 154
Status: New read
Synopsis: Pale and clumsy, Belle arrives in Switchblade, Oregon, looking for adventure, or at least an undead classmate. She soon discovers Edwart, a wuper-hot computer nerd with zero interest in girls. After witnessing a number of strange events -- Edwart leaves his TaterTots untouched at lunch! Edwart saves her from a flying snowball! -- Belle has a dramatic revelation: Edwart is a vampire. But how can she convince Edwart to bite her and transform her into his eternal bride, especially when he seems to find girls so repulsive? Complete with romance, danger, insufficient parental guardianship, creepy stalkerlike behavior, and a vampire prom, Nightlight is the uproarious tale of a vampire-obsessed girl looking for love in all the wrong places.

Book the Ninety-Ninth
Title: Snow
Author: Tracy Lynn
Page Count: 259
Status: Reread
Synopsis: In a tiny Welsh estate, a duke and duchess lived happily, lacking only a child -- or, more importantly, a son and heir to the estate. Childbirth ultimately proved fatal for the young duchess. After she died, the duke was dismayed to discover that he was not only a widower, but also father to a tiny baby girl. Indpendent -- virtually ignored -- and finding only little animals and a lonely servant boy as her companions, Jessica is pale, lonely, and headstrong . . . and quick to learn that she has an enemy in her stepmother. Snow, as she comes to be known, flees the estate to London and finds herself embraced by a band of urban outcasts. But her stempother isn't finished with he, and if Jessica doesn't take control of her destiny, the wicked witch will certainly harness her youth -- and threaten her very life . . .
