OMG WHAT, a HP Fanfic rec-ish post?
Through metafandom I found an entry on Queer Character Tags on AO3, Current and Future. I found the amount of trans-related tags intriguing, so I clicked around a bit and stumbled over this Harry Potter fic with the tag "trans" and went "oh, my one and only fandom! Gotta check this out!" And you know what? I actually really enjoyed it.
Sleeping Underneath Your Skin by kyuuketsukirui describes situations and feelings* I've experienced but have almost forgotten about and really feeds into my love/hate relationship with memory and remembering things. I don't know about the characterization - I can definitely see this Ginny in front of me, but I feel like this could just as well be original fic set in the Wizarding World. Which really doesn't bother me much, it's still a good fic.
*The whole "standing in front of the mirror"-thing and seeing yourself and someone else at the same time, especially (the magic involved in the fic really doesn't make it much different).
