David against David. They say that this season has the best talent as compared to previous ones (don't know how true that is because the previous time I watched was Season 3, when Fantasia won it). Despite that the cast for the finale is pretty obvious, I mean how sketchy would it be when I predicted it at the top 10 stage. But the road itself had quite a few turns. I was miffed when Ramiele was out, furious that Michael Johns got out, and then disappointed when Carly Smithson got the boot, wondered in disbelief every week which Kristy Cook survived and then Jason Castro. Of course, there's the double double-take of Brooke as well (Every Breath You Take and You Must Love Me). But I guess in the end, no one could match the singing prowess of the Davids. My prediction: Cook takes it all with his trademark walk (left hand holding the mic, right hand holding the stand and carrying it as he walks around stage).

Here's just a recap for me the remember this wonderful season of music.

10. David Archuleta - Love Me Tender

9. Carly Smithson - Jesus Christ Superstar
It was sad to see her go out on this song. I missed her powerful voice, especially during group performances.

8. Brooke White - You're So Vain

7. Brooke White - Let It Be

6. David Cook - Eleanor Rigby
This song started me taking notice of this guy, and since I listened to this song before, it amazed me to see the transformation from Beatles, to Doxology, to David Cook.

5. Syesha Mercado - Yesterday
Her breakout performance (I disagree with Cowell regarding Sam Cooke's song). I think it is this that really justified her place in the top 3.

4. Michael Johns - We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions
Watch it. Feel it. Love it.

3. David Archuleta - Imagine
I knew he was going to the final after this song. His best performance hands down.

2. David Cook - Billie Jean
Chris Cornell called up Ryan Seacrest to say he loved Cook's take on this song. Again the transformation from Michael Jackson, to Chris Cornell, to David Cook. Good enough?

1. David Cook - Always Be My Baby
It was released in Singapore after just a week it was televised as a single. He made this song his own, gave it a bit of alternrock edge. Being a sucker for alternrock, and being a fan of his, how could I not put this song at no. 1? You wouldn't even think Mariah Carey had done it before if you've heard it the first time.

And some honourary mention has well. Michael Johns' Bohemian Rhapsody, Josiah Lemming's Grace Kelly, Ramiele Malubay's Alone, David Archuleta's Think of Me, Jason Castro's Over The Rainbow, Michael Johns' Light My Fire.

Thank goodness Survivor doesn't end the same week. I just think it's the dumbest Survivor ever.
