Since I know everyone on the planet likes Usher, click on this link because it will be well worth your time:
http://thefader.com/articles/2007/11/15/audio-usher-f-ludacris-dat-girl-right-there-prod-by-rich-harrison I thought this record was going to come out this month, but since nothing has been heard from him, obviously not.
I like pop music and want to write pop music for one reason- it is a vast expanse of nothingness. There is so much openness for people to experiment and write "new" things that are melodically and harmonically insightful and also maintaining a popular appeal. Why not?
I mean, all in all, it isn't as satisfying as an album that is so chock full of complicated ideas and things you need to digest, like Sigur Rós or glassJAw or Aesop Rock albums. That is, anyway, where I get my true fix.
*I think that the Usher song would be twice as cool if Spank Rock was in it- its a perfect fit for him anyway.
*Speaking of Sigur Rós, Heima comes out in 4 days +
this.
